Roman Boxing (Bath) is a registered charity in England and Wales, operating as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), charity number 1207073. The club is governed by a board of Trustees who are responsible for the overall direction of the charity, financial oversight and ensuring the organisation operates in line with its charitable objectives and legal responsibilities. 

The charity is currently overseen by three founders, now serving as Trustees, with active recruitment underway to appoint additional Trustees before the building purchase proceeds. In particular, we are seeking individuals with professional experience in areas of governance, finance and legal areas to further strengthen the charity as it continues to grow.

All coaching and operational support within the club is provided voluntarily. No salaries are drawn, allowing income generated through memberships and fundraising to be directed back into the club, its activities and the long-term security of the organisation.

Major decisions are made through formal Trustee voting in accordance with the charity’s governing document. Coaches, volunteers and members help shape discussions and raise ideas, but responsibility for governance and financial stewardship ultimately rests with the Trustee board.

Roman Boxing is committed to operating transparently and responsibly. We publish annual reports and accounts with the Charity Commission in line with our legal obligations and maintain policies covering safeguarding, health and safety, financial controls, volunteer conduct and operational procedures.

The proposed leasehold purchase is being undertaken through appropriate legal and financial processes, with professional advice sought as necessary. Once purchased, the building will become a protected charitable asset owned directly by the charity and held for the long-term benefit of the community and the charitable purposes of Roman Boxing.
